    yields 3 dozen cookies time---difficultyeasy

    Bakery-style cookies that you can make at home. They begin with a dough made with Pillsbury Moist Supreme White Cake Mix, cream cheese, butter and egg. After mixing, the dough is divided in half with red food coloring added to one. A few twists and two doughs form the candy canes.

      RECIPE INGREDIENTS

    1/4 cup butter, softened
    One (3 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
    1 egg
    One (18.25 ounce) package Pillsbury Moist Supreme White Cake Mix
    1/4 teaspoon red gel or paste icing color

      RECIPE METHOD

    Heat oven to 350 degrees F. In large bowl, combine butter, cream cheese and egg; blend well. Add cake mix; mix until well blended. Divide dough in half. Add food color to half of dough; blend well for even red color.

    For each cookie, measure 1 teaspoon white dough and 1 teaspoon red dough. Roll out each into 4-inch rope. Place ropes side by side. Lightly roll together; twist. Place 2-inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet; shape each to resemble candy cane.

    Bake at 350 degrees F. for 7 to 9 minutes or just until edges are golden brown. Immediately remove from cookie sheets.

    HIGH ALTITUDE:(Above 3500 Ft.)
    Add 1/4 cup flour to dry cake mix. Bake as directed above.
