Giving Thanks, In the years since Abraham Lincoln made it a national day of thanksgiving in 1863, Thanksgiving has become our most beloved holiday, and 97 percent of American's (more than 280 million people) eat turkey on Thanksgiving Day. But beyond the bird, the menu of this quintessentially American meal is as varied as the cultures of our nation's melting pot--and every recipe tells a story.
