RECIPE TITLE "Baked
- 4 large baking
- 2/3 tablespoons of butter,
- 1 cup firmly packed dark brown sugar,
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon,
- 4/6 tablespoons apple juice or cider, whipped
cream for serving.
- Quarter, peel and
core the apples, and slice them thinly.
- Butter a baking dish
that will hold them comfortably.
- In a large bowl,
toss the sliced apples with sugar and cinnamon to taste. Transfer them
to the baking dish and moisten with apple juice or cider.
- Dot the top with
small flakes of butter. Bake the apples in a preheated 375 F. oven for
30 to 40 minutes, or until they are a rich golden color on top and feel
soft when pierced with a fork or skewer.
- Serve hot or warm,
with a bowl of chilled, slightly sweetened whipped cream.
